Private Sunset Cruise in Palm Beach
A sunset cruise in Palm Beach starts about 90 minutes before the sun goes down and ends in the dark with the lights of West Palm Beach across the water. The boat is yours. The captain is ours. The route stays on the calm water of the Lake Worth Lagoon, so nobody spends golden hour feeling seasick.
South Florida Yacht Rental runs private evening charters from Riviera Beach City Marina for Palm Beach and West Palm Beach guests, and from Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton. Every cruise has a USCG-licensed captain. Fuel is in the price.
Call or text (561) 945-8527 to book. We answer 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.
How the Sunset Cruise Works
The cruise runs 2 to 3 hours. Weekend sunset departures run 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Weekday times are flexible, and in summer, when the sun sets closer to 8:15 PM, we push the start later. In December it sets around 5:30 PM. You board, the captain heads out while the light is still high, and you're in position with a clear view west when the sun hits the horizon.
Most sunset routes stay inside the Lake Worth Inlet. The lagoon is protected water, and the sun sets over the mainland, so the best view is from the water looking west toward the downtown skyline. Trips from Delray Beach and Boca Raton run the Intracoastal and Lake Boca the same way.
Bring your own food and drinks, alcohol included, or ask us about boat catering. The captain handles the anchor, the music, and the timing.
Which Boat for the Evening
- Couples and small groups: the 22-foot fun boat or 34-foot Saxdor
- Groups of 10 to 13: a 42 to 88 foot yacht with a restroom and shade
- Larger groups: the 26-foot party boat for 18 or the 55-foot catamaran for 49
Yachts in our fleet have a restroom and shade. Day boats don't. Tell us the group and we'll match the boat. See photos on our boats.
Why Book Your Evening Charter With Us
A sunset cruise is the one trip where timing can't slip, and our captains treat it that way. A boat that leaves the dock 20 minutes late misses the whole point. Our captains run these waters every evening and know how long it takes to get from the marina to the best spot on the lagoon.
Every boat is company-owned and insured. Every cruise includes our own USCG-licensed captain, with fuel in the price. Gratuity for the crew is the only extra. There's no captain fee or fuel charge at the dock, which is a common surprise on app-booked evening trips.
For the full list of routes, see our Palm Beach boat tours page. For a proposal or anniversary, see event yacht charters.
Sunset Cruise Pricing
Sunset cruises start at $690. Price depends on the boat. Fuel and captain are included. Gratuity is extra. Weekday sunsets are discounted.
We take all major credit cards, debit cards, ACH, and wire transfer. If we cancel for weather, you get a credit good for 28 months. See the weather and cancellation policy.
Frequently Asked Questions

What time does the sunset cruise leave?

-
Is the sunset cruise private?
Yes. Only your group is on board. We don't sell seats on a shared sunset boat.
-
Can we go out on a weekend or holiday?
Yes. We run seven days a week, including holidays, until 10:00 PM. Weekend sunsets in season book early.
-
Can we eat dinner on the boat?
Yes. Bring your own, or ask about catering. For a sit-down dinner, pick a yacht with a table and indoor seating. For a dock-and-dine dinner, see our dining destinations page.

Yes. Evening trips also depart from Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and Lighthouse Point. The Palm Beach trip boards at Riviera Beach City Marina.

What if it's cloudy or raining?
Light clouds often make a better sunset. If the captain cancels for lightning or high wind, you get a credit toward another charter, good for 28 months.

Can I propose on the sunset cruise?
Yes. Tell us the plan and the captain will time the moment and find a quiet spot on the lagoon.
